Mr. John Fekete started his home building career in Edmonton in 1930. Developing his high standard of quality and value, he built custom homes for many prominent Edmontonians, and then founded Fekete Construction Co. Ltd. to build and market “Fekete Homes”. During the period from 1949 into the early 1970’s Fekete became one of the major home builders in the province.
The 70’s and 80’s saw Fekete active in building apartments, condominiums and warehousing with “Fekete Homes” being built on a referral basis. In the late 1980’s “Fekete Homes” were back into the single-family home market with showhomes in the Riverbend district and surrounding areas.
Today there are two generations of Fekete’s, the Grandchildren and Great Grandchild of John Fekete carrying on his high standard for a quality built “Fekete Home”. The Fekete’s continue to remain active from their offices and warehousing located near Rexall Place.
Fekete has been a committed builder in Alberta as exemplified by the fact of its 90 + year history. Fekete has grown and prospered over time for two main reasons: First, that Fekete has maintained its quality conscious ideals, and secondly, that Fekete can be trusted to complete a client’s project within their budget and time frame.
