Inglewood is a mature community in South East Calgary that features an enviable mainstreet that stretches East to West along 9th Avenue SE. Shops and services include vintage vinyl shops, second hand vintage, army surplus Harley Davidson, and some of the trendiest eating establishments in the city. Two new breweries have popped up along the rail lines to the south and seem to fit in seamlessly with the eclectic nature of the community. The main street is part of the music mile that stretches east from King Edward Hotel and Studio Bell in East Village. Historic live music venues such as the Ironwood and the Blues Can attract music lovers the city over. Inglewood is home to Colonel Walker Public School.
Inglewood features access to the downtown core via river pathway for residents if desired and is host to two beautiful park the first being Pearce Estate Park which underwent a major transformation after the 2013 floors adding a considerable amount of aquatic infrastructure at the rivers edge for all to enjoy. The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is situated in the eastern most boundary of the neighbourhood. Inglewood is in the midst of redevelopment with a recently completed midrise condo building and a number of other rental buildings constructed and proposed. Along the river to the North of the community are larger single-family residences many of which have been redeveloped into modern single family or attached homes. Further South into the community and across 9th avenue there are some beautiful streets that are now seeing more and more infill development due to attractive entry price points. To the east of the community lies SoBow, a two-phase condo project developed by M2i Developments.
